Stefan Nickel ist Universitätsprofessor am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie und leitet den Bereich Diskrete Optimierung und Logistik des Instituts für Operations Research. Weiterhin ist er Direktor des Karlsruhe Service Research Institute (KSRI) und des Forschungszentrums Informatik (FZI) Karlsruhe sowie im Scientific Advisory Board des Fraunhofer ITWM. Seine Forschungs- und Lehrschwerpunkte sind Standortplanung, Gebietsplanung, Supply Chain Management, Health Care und Online-Optimierung.
Oliver Stein ist Universitätsprofessor am Karlsruher Institut für Technologie und leitet dort den Bereich für Kontinuierliche Optimierung am Institut für Operations Research. In der Forschung konzentriert er sich auf Entwurf und Implementierung von Optimierungsverfahren sowie deren theoretische Grundlagen. Lehrschwerpunkte sind Nichtlineare Optimierung, Globale Optimierung sowie Parametrische Optimierung.
Karl-Heinz Waldmann ist Universitätsprofessor am Institut für Operations Research des Karlsruher Instituts für Technologie und leitet dort den Bereich für Stochastische Modellierung und Optimierung. In der Forschung konzentriert er sich auf die Modellierung, Analyse und Optimierung dynamischer Systeme, die stochastischen Einflüssen unterliegen. Sein besonderes Interesse gilt der Optimalität einfach strukturierter Entscheidungsregeln sowie deren effiziente Berechnung.
